Your dreams have everything to do with a divorce. From creating a dream team of advisors to taking old dreams out of the closet and dusting them off again. When you go through a divorce, you get a chance to go back to the life you dreamt of. The one before that sneaky unhappiness crept in. Those dreams are the things that get us to lose some lbs, start dating and pull out the resume. We finally take that bucket trip and the dreams give us the courage to fall in love again.
Create a dream team of advisors to make the process of separating easier.
First of all, your divorce dream team of advisors must include a top-notch attorney you can trust. Then you’re going to want a divorce coach to keep you moving towards your future. And perhaps, a CDFA and/or CPA to advise you on your finances. Hopefully, you will hire a new CFA to turn make the investments you need in the future.
In addition, in order to date, you’ll probably want a new hairdresser or a trainer, and a nutritionist. This is not the time to scrimp on looking your best. You may even hire a matchmaker or a dating coach to help you find the right partner.
Those dreams you still desire are totally worth having. Spend a little time getting to know them again.
Ask yourself, “Would you start a business without a business plan, advisors and a business coach to keep you going in the right direction?” Most likely, you know the answer. “Not a chance!” So it goes with divorce. We were not meant to be alone. Ever, but definitely not through this process. Your dreamy new life is going to take some doing, especially if it’s not here quite yet.

Your dreams are there to help make you smile. Upon leaving my marriage, I embarked on singing lessons which make me laugh thinking about them even now. I hired a new CPA and a new CFA. I definitely needed coaches, mentors, and advanced training.
